Now that I have given a general overview of what content is to me, I am diving even deeper. Let\u2019s consider the following.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns alignwide is-layout-flex wp-container-4\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:100%\">\n<p class=\"has-large-font-size\" id=\"block-1caf0960-d529-41fa-aeb5-d1b3940c33e8\"><strong>Has there or has there not been a change to the concepts and practice of content strategy within the past 15 years?<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns alignwide is-layout-flex wp-container-6\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:100%\">\n<p id=\"block-97e059aa-f960-4e05-a9ed-8e55194243dc\">In an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=vjVRJcbKKJI\">informative video<\/a> about content strategy vs. content tactics, Catherine Toole, the founder of the digital content agency Sticky Content, says that having a good content strategy is all about balance. It should take the user\u2019s needs and what they want to consume combined with the needs of the business.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns alignwide is-layout-flex wp-container-8\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:100%\">\n<p id=\"block-395885bb-3eef-42c2-8c0e-bfca31e63e2a\">While the methods of delivery for content are subject to change, the basis of this idea itself remains unchanged. The earliest forms of content and how it is consumed are vastly different than what they are today. For instance, social media is a widely used method to create and engage with content, but this was not the case 20 years ago. An <a href=\"https:\/\/shelleycrick.com\/concept-and-practice-of-content-strategy\/#:~:text=Although%20the%20concept%20of%20content%20strategy%20hasn't%20really%20changed,its%20way%20into%20the%20world.\">article<\/a> by Shelley Crick suggests that \u201calthough the concept of content strategy hasn&#8217;t really changed in 15 years, the practice of getting good quality content to the right people, at the right time, through the right devices has. And it will continue to do so, especially when whatever comes after the internet makes its way into the world.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns alignwide is-layout-flex wp-container-10\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:100%\">\n<p id=\"block-c1cbc552-ea37-4431-bbfe-ae2cab80663f\">So while it may seem like our content strategy development process has vastly changed, it really hasn&#8217;t. The main goal of mutually benefitting your audience and your business is what makes content strategy, and that has always remained the same.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns alignwide is-layout-flex wp-container-12\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:100%\">\n<p class=\"has-large-font-size\" id=\"block-df32d09a-8cdf-4182-a91a-ac78d680a07e\"><strong>Why are \u2018budget, buy-in, and preparing for success\u2019 so important in developing a content strategy?<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns alignwide is-layout-flex wp-container-14\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:100%\">\n<p id=\"block-52bd6d03-12fc-4a08-9770-8ee1c5b40d8e\">These concepts are all vital in creating a strategy for content. Meghan Casey, author of <em>The Content Strategy Toolkit<\/em> discusses these topics in more depth and how they can help form the best content strategy.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns alignwide is-layout-flex wp-container-16\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:100%\">\n<p id=\"block-d0c09e66-ce6d-40b9-8834-f15c6cc30d37\">The first step in any content project is proving to your organization that your idea is valid and necessary. This typically starts with identifying problems with current content. Once you can determine these issues, \u201cyou can translate these problems into business opportunities\u201d (Casey 3) which will ideally help your business succeed.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns alignwide is-layout-flex wp-container-18\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:100%\">\n<p id=\"block-b8725180-c07a-4268-9a78-fdc8b83cfbed\">Ensuring that you have sufficient funds, resources, and connections is the key to creating a successful content strategy and thus a successful business. Talking to the right people outside and behind the scenes is a good way to get multiple perspectives on a business model and the types of content to create.
